New Denver has a variety of dining options ranging from cafés and coffee shops to and an upscale establishment, with not a single fast food franchise. However, most kitchens are not opened during the night.
Cafés and Coffee Shops A Slocan Valley institution, the Wild Rose Café feels like it belongs in the wild southwest. This charming café has been serving up delicious Mexican food for years. Some outside seating is available. Find the Wild Rose in Rosebury, off Highway 6, about 10 minutes north of New Denver. The licensed Panini Bistro spills out into the street – sidewalk cafe style. The menu features a great selection of sandwiches, desserts and coffee. Caffeine fiends should check out Nuru Design in New Denver and the Cup and Saucer in Silverton. The Apple Tree On New Denver's main street, a sign on the sidewalk promises "up-to-the-minute gossip." The Apple Tree also offers creatively prepared sandwiches and a breakfast menu too. On a warm day take advantage of the shady picnic tables in the garden. Dining and Accommodation The Retallack Lodge, a cat skiing operation in the winter, also offers an excellent fine dining menu for summer visitors. The lodge is located way up in the mountains next to the ghost town of Retallack, off Highway 31A between New Denver and Kaslo. The dining room and outdoor patio at the Valhalla Inn is the best bet in New Denver for an evening meal. The inn is right on Highway 6. Check with the New Denver Visitor Centre for a complete list of dining options.
