Kitimat Dining

Old Keg Pub - Sarah Artis

Kitimat has about 15 restaurants to choose from, including a pub, several pizzerias and Chinese restaurants, coffee shops, fast food places, and a seafood restaurant. Almost all are located in downtown Kitimat or within walking distance.

Casual Fare

The Old Keg Pub, right downtown opposite the Kitimat mall, is an old favourite. The pub also turns into the town's only nightclub and dance floor on Friday and Saturdays. Get there early on Fridays to avoid the lineup.

Kitimat has a couple pizzerias, as well as several lunch diners, and Chinese restaurants, including one offering sushi. The town's several coffee shops are also great places to spend a winter afternoon.

Seafood

Although Kitimat is a popular fishing spot, it has only one seafood restaurant, Seamaster's, located in Kitamaat Village, a 20-minute drive east of town. Seamaster's sits on the beach at the edge of the ocean, and is slightly more upscale than the other eateries around town. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and about a third of the restaurant's tables are next to large windows, making for great views of the sea and spectacular surrounding wilderness. The restaurant's menu includes all sorts of ocean treats, such as halibut and crab, and is open for lunch and dinner.

Hirsh Creek Golf & Winter Club

Check out the Hirsh Creek Golf & Winter Club for another great place to eat with beautiful views. In the north of town, the club's large restaurant overlooks the greens on one side and the club's indoor curling rink on the other. It's a popular place to eat, especially in the summer.
