Houston's 10 or so restaurants are offer casual fare. Dining choices here range from pub grub, Chinese food, and pizza to west coast seafood. All of Houston's eateries are central, within walking distance of the Houston Visitor Centre on Hwy 16. Lunch Spots A newish daytime diner and coffee shop in town, Brewstirs, is popular for its distinctive and filling daily soups, as well as its sandwiches and pastries. Rita's Diner, located in the mall, also open only during the day, is another popular lunch spot. Pleasant Valley Restaurant The Pleasant Valley Restaurant, attached to the Pleasant Valley Motel on Hwy 16, serves a variety of menu items such as burgers, pastas, and seafood, but is best known for its pies. The restaurant also hosts special Indian food nights a few times a year. Farmer's Market During the summer, the town hosts a farmer's market on Friday evenings at Steelhead Park, a nicely landscaped green space next to the Houston Visitor Centre.
