Fort St. John Dining

Fort St. John has a good selection of dining out options suited to various tastes and budgets. Fine dining is available at Uptown Grill, while deli and casual fare is found at several coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs, including Jackfish Dundees' Pub, which has a great patio overlooking Charlie Lake. Also, Ship-to-Shore serves a mean fish n' chips. Ethnic options include Japanese and Chinese food, and the usual selection of fast food establishments are found throughout town.

Coffee Shops

Local Fort St. John coffee shops, Cosmic Grounds (10430-100 St) and CJ's on Main (9905-100 Ave), offer a relaxed environments, where patrons can, in addition to hot beverages, enjoy typical deli fare.  Whole Wheat and Honey (10003-100 St) coffee shop sometimes features live musicians for a cover fee during the evenings. There are also two chain coffee shops in Fort St. John.

Uptown Grill

Uptown Grill - Tara ForestUptown Grill (9924-101 Ave) has a quiet ambiance, and serves locally grown meat and produce. The menu frequently changes and includes a variety of international dishes.

Ethnic Cuisine

Three Japanese restaurants are located in Fort St. John. Grab a quick takeaway from Sushi Heaven (9831-98A Ave), choose from a wide selection of sushi and other Japanese items at Mastaro Sushi (9823-100 St), and for a more formal atmosphere, occupy a private booth at Little Tokyo (10147-100 Ave).  Chinese food is available at Mama Panda's (9608-100 St), Centre Dining, and Ming's Kitchen (9005 100 Ave).

Casual Fare and Comfort Food

Ship-to-Shore (10403-100 Ave) is a locally owned seafood diner with awesome cod n'chips, and halibut n'chips, as well as crab and other seafood.  Other casual dining options are Tony Roma's, Mr. Mikes, Fog N'Sudds, and the White Spot. Further north along the Alaska Highway, the Shepherd's Inn (Mile 72) offers a country dining option with homemade bread and home style food.

Pub Food

Jackfish Dundees' Pub (Mile 52 Alaska Highway) has a beautiful patio view of Charlie Lake, and a wide selection of dishes. Casey's Neighbourhood Pub (8163-100 Ave) is one of the oldest pubs in Fort St. John, featuring pool, darts, a patio and good food.  Egan's Pub & Irish Restaurant (9324 Alaska Rd) frequently features jam nights and live music.

Pizza and Fast Food

Locally owned Olio's Pizza (1-9016-100 Ave) offers a variety of traditional pizzas and flavors above and beyond the usual. Four pizza chains are also located in Fort St. John, as well as other common fast food establishments.
