Clearwater has a fairly good selection of dining options: In addition to uniquely housed restaurants, most accommodations facilities feature on-site dining establishments. Find quick bites at the Flower Meadow Bakery & Café (444 Clearwater Valley Rd.), or settle in for some rustic grub at one of the area's guest ranches.
Old Caboose RestaurantFor an unusual setting, the Old Caboose Restaurant, (260 Park Dr.) across from the Visitor Centre, is built from an old railway caboose. With modern upgrades, the restaurant has a bright and airy atmosphere and a varied light menu.
Local HauntsIn Clearwater, the Painted Turtle Restaurant at the Dutch Lake Resort (361 Ridge Dr.) sits on the edge of Dutch Lake, where in the evening loons are heard across the lake. Other local spots include the Wells Gray Bar & Grill (228 E Yellowhead Hwy) and the 52 Ridge Restaurant at the Clearwater Valley Resort & KOA Campground (373 Clearwater Valley Rd.).
Guest Ranch RestaurantsThe Trophy Mountain Buffalo Ranch Grill (20 km/12mi north of Clearwater) is an outdoor barbecue style restaurant, specializing in various cuts of Bison steak. At the Wells Gray Guest Ranch (25km/15.5mi from Clearwater) the Black Horse Saloon has one choice of a main dish per day, alternating between a BBQ steak, Indigenous-style baked Pacific salmon, oven roasted chicken, and a traditional wrangler's pork chop dinner.
Drop by the Clearwater Visitor Centre (at the entrance of Wells Gray Provincial Park on Yellowhead Highway 5) for a complete list of dining options in the area.
