Trail Accommodations

Accommodation in Trail is fairly limited, offering one hotel, two motels, one bed and breakfast, several campgrounds, and one RV park. However, many accommodation options are available in nearby Rossland, 10km/5mi west of town. Staying in Trail usually requires booking in advance, especially during the summer high season.

Hotels

With a total of 58 units, the Best Western Terra Nova Hotel is the largest accommodation option in town, complete with restaurant, pub, and exercise facilities.  The hotel is located downtown on Rossland Avenue, at the junction of Highways 22 and 3B. Glenwood Motel, on Highway 3B just 1.6km/1mi east of the bridge has 36 family-friendly units. The motel café gets quite busy, so reservations are recommended. The 29-unit RayLyn Motel, at 118 Wellington Ave., is a short drive along Highway 3B towards Rossland.

Bed and Breakfast

Check out the "Communities in Bloom" award-winning gardens of the River's Edge Bed-and-Breakfast, located on Columbia Avenue across the river from downtown Trial.

Camping and RVs

With a warm swimming lake, playground facilities, and woodland trails, the best family camping in the area is at Champion Lakes Provincial Park.  Follow Highway #3B westbound for 22km/14mi and look for signage. Reservations are recommended during July and August.  Remember to shop for groceries before heading to the park.

The Kiwanis Club of Trail operates a campground at Beaver Creek Provincial Park,  off highway 22A, 7km/4.5mi south of Trail. Riverside sites are available, along with showers and flush toilets. In the Pend Oreille Recreation Area, Buckley Campground offers a sandy beach, free firewood, and a total of 22 campsites, some of which are wheelchair accessible.  Access is via Highway #22A near the Canada/US boundary.   Watch for signs to 7 Mile Dam.

The City of Trail RV Park is located on Highway 3B, adjacent to the Waneta Plaza shopping mall.  With a total of 31 sites, the park offers flush toilets and hot showers, and also accepts tent campers.
