Tofino Accommodations

The word "luxe" jumps up at the mention of Tofino, but the happy reality is, there's a full range of accommodations encompassing not only grand resorts, but campgrounds, hostels, motels, vacation rentals, B&Bs, hotels and inns, to suit every budget.

Luxe Resorts

The Wickaninnish Inn is legendary for its location on a promontory overlooking Chesterman Beach, Ancient Cedars Spa and Pointe restaurant. Sprawling on the scimitar of pale sand known as Cox Bay, Long Beach Lodge offers a Great Room, recalling the heyday of grand hotels. Further down, Pacific Sands is a cluster of sumptuously appointed villas with beach views.

Wilderness Resort

The all-inclusive Clayoquot Wilderness Resort combines wilderness outpost, fishing camp, dude ranch and eco experience. Movie stars Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson honeymooned here in 2009. Stay in tents with four-poster beds, Oriental rugs, down duvets and tropical insect netting.

Hostels

The Clayoquot Field Station in the Tofino Botanical Gardens offers dorm and private accommodations for 32 and daily programs with the accent on discovery and learning. Whalers at the Point Guesthouse offers private, family and shared rooms, self-catering kitchen, ocean view with fireplace and library.

Motels

The downtown Tofino Motel offers double rooms and family suites with panoramic views of ocean inlets, Fisherman's Dock and snow-capped Mariner Mountain Range.

B&Bs and Vacation Rentals

A whopping 50 B&Bs and dozens of well-heeled vacation rental homes, cabins, and cottages offer charms in the order of beachside and rainforest locations, hot tubs, barbecues and fireplaces. Beach Break Lodge is an executive B&B with spacious suites, ocean views, bedrooms with fireplaces, and hot tubs.

Campgrounds

Campgrounds abound but book early. The Long Beach Golf Course offers 76 campsites at Long Beach. Bella Pacifica Campground on MacKenzie Beach has beachside camping and RV sites. Pacific Rim National Park Campground is the only one of its kind in the park.
