Summerland offers a moderate range of accommodation. The emphasis is on bed and breakfasts, often reflecting the town's agricultural roots, and campgrounds that let people get close to the area's natural treasures. A few motels offer mid-range stays while lakeside resort accommodations provide access to the beach for swimming and boating.

There are no national hotel chains in Summerland, but visitors find moderate accommodations in motels clustered around Highway 97.

Summerland is known for its sandy beaches and opportunities for water-based recreation. Stay on the lakeshore at Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa. Naturally preserved wetlands host waterfowl and beaver, a string of beaches beckon and the adjacent boat launch and marina welcome boaters. Condo-style units are family-friendly and amenities include on-site water sport rentals and Beyond Wrapture Spa, known for its vinotherapy treatments using Okanagan organic grapes.

B&Bs

Bed and breakfasts offer the biggest choice in accommodations around Summerland. Stay in a modern home downtown or retreat to a country setting among the orchards and vineyards or overlooking Okanagan Lake. For a taste of farm life or a bird watching getaway, book into Glenoka Bed & Breakfast with fruit trees and vegetable garden to supply the table and the Adams Bird Sanctuary next door. Red Barn Ranch has a western feel and offers trail rides. There's more trail riding and a log home setting at Wildhorse Mountain Ranch. Wine lovers try the Grape Escape Guest House, set in a working vineyard.

Camping & RV

Summerland is a haven for campers and RV enthusiasts in the Okanagan Valley where many parks have been converted to condo and resort developments. Summerland Campground near Sun-Oka Beach on Okanagan Lake provides tent sites and RV hook-ups. For shady sites beside a creek, set up in the Peach Orchard Campground. It's a five-minute drive from beaches, boat launches and downtown, and across the road from the Adams Bird Sanctuary. Illahie Beach RV Park and Campground is located on the shores of Okanagan Lake or pull the RV into a space among the cherry and pear trees at Dickinson Farm, home of the Guinness Book of World Records' world's tallest orchard ladder. Okanagan Lake Provincial Park offers 168 campsites in two campgrounds. This park is very popular and reservations are recommended in summer.
