Located in historic downtown Cumberland, this Tourism BC Approved Accommodation occupies an 1895 heritage building which served as the village hardware store prior to being tastefully restored & converted into a 30 bed hostel. We are in the heart of recreation with access to fantastic mountain bike trails, Mt. Washington Alpine Resort, Forbidden Plateau Recreation Area, Strathcona Provincial Park, Comox Lake, kayaking, scuba, rock climbing, hiking & the Gulf Islands.. Most recently, the Riding Fool Hostel was voted the 'local pick' for Lonely Planet BC Edition (2007) & described as “one of the best hostels on Vancouver Island.”
