Richmond Accommodations

Richmond offers a wide range of brand-name hotel accommodations, in addition to some quality B&Bs. A major selling point is proximity to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) on Sea Island, and many of Richmond's hotels have the word "airport" in their names.

Visitors to Vancouver can save some money by staying in Richmond. It takes about 20 minutes to reach downtown Vancouver by car or bus from Richmond. The Canada Line rapid transit link also provides another option for getting to Vancouver, with seven stations located in Richmond.

Hotels

There are more than 20 hotels in Richmond, suitable for different budgets, from business travelers to families. Hotels range in size from 30 to 415 rooms, and almost all offer free airport shuttles.

The luxurious Fairmont Vancouver Airport marked its 10th anniversary at YVR in 2009, and was the only airport hotel that made Condé Nast Traveler's Top 100 Gold six years in a row.

For casino aficionados, there's the Las Vegas-style River Rock Resort Hotel on the north arm of the Fraser River. In addition to a 6,500sq m/70,000sq ft casino with 900-plus slot machines, the River Rock's amenities include a spa, multiple restaurants, and a show theatre that features classic rock and pop artists.

The Steveston Hotel is located in the historic fishing village of Steveston in southwest Richmond, and the quaint 30-room hotel has welcomed guests since 1895. It's right across the street from the Gulf of Georgia Cannery, which is a National Historic Site.

Bed and Breakfasts

Richmond has several comfortable B&Bs, scattered throughout the city. Some notable ones include Picture Perfect B&B, which often dishes up blueberry pancakes or fresh fruit clafouti for breakfast, and Cedar House B&B, where owners Paul Kao and Tracy Chen offer horseback riding lessons on their property.
