Pemberton Accommodations

Camping in Joffre Lakes Provincial Park, Tourism BC/Marlene FordAs a peaceful and affordable alternative to Whistler's upscale accommodation options, the Pemberton Valley Lodge has come into its own. This comfortable lodge features studio, one and two-bedroom suites with fully equipped kitchens as well as amenities such as an outdoor swimming pool, fitness studio, heated secure parking and a Whistler Ski Shuttle. Pemberton also has a number of quality B&Bs, cabin and camping facilities as well as two hostels.

Pemberton B&Bs

Log House Inn

With seven well appointed rooms, the very woodsy Log House Inn is Pemberton's largest B&B operation; it comes with many pampering touches including complimentary WiFi.

Pemberton Valley Vineyard

Located in the meadows, the Pemberton Valley Vineyard has three rooms, each with a log cabin feel and as Pemberton's only licensed winery, it also operates a large open kitchen restaurant for breakfasts and summertime dinners.

Country Meadows B&B, Lillooet River Lodge and the Greenwood Country Inn B&B are more choices; the latter has a fun gallery of First Nations work. There are also B&Bs in Mt Currie and D'Arcy.

Cabins

The waterside log cabins at Ivey Lake Lodge are popular with families and fishing enthusiasts looking for trophy fish on the fly. Drive on to Gates Lake and the Birken Lakeside Resort where, in addition to 22 tent and small RV sites, there are six themed cabins that feature whimsical styles from Morocco, the Wild West, Africa, Hollywood, Mexico and an English library.

The Japanese style shower rooms are definitely conversation pieces. Gate Lake has great swimming and kayaks are available (for free) at the dock.

Camping & RV

Nairn Falls Provincial Park

Nairn Falls and Birkenhead Lake Provincial Parks have the best camping options. Located just 2km/1.2mi south of Pemberton on Hwy 99, Nairn Falls Provincial Park has 94 campsites, hiking trails to Green River, One Mile Lake and Coudre Point as well as an easy 1.5km/.9mi walk to waterfalls.

Birkenhead Lake Provincial Park

About 22km/13.6mi west of D'Arcy on Hwy 99, Birkenhead Lake also has 94 campsites and a wilderness area. Families come here for the sandy beaches, picnic sites, designated swimming area and the more than 11km/6.8mi of hiking and mountain bike trails. Canoe rentals are available.

Joffre Lakes Provincial Park

Joffre Lakes Provincial Park has approximately 24 walk-in, backcountry campsites. Camping is permitted year round at Upper Joffre Lake but potential avalanches sometimes make winter camping here too dangerous. That's why campers use the parking lots as base camp for winter snow-shoe hikes and ice fishing.

Forest Recreation Sites

Check out the many Forest Recreation Sites at Cayoosh Creek, Roger Creek, Gott Creek, Cottonwood and Cinnamon - the last two locations are exceptionally small with less than five sites.
