Ladysmith Accommodations
A good selection of bed and breakfasts along with a handful of lodges, a single motel (the Holiday House), and several inexpensive downtown hotels allow travellers to roost for awhile in Ladysmith. Boaters, meanwhile, can find an overnight home amongst the numerous public berths in Ladysmith Harbour.
Ladysmith B&Bs and Lodges
A handful of first-rate B&Bs and lodges are on the ocean side of the highway adjacent to the Coronation Mall south of town. A faux Victorian exterior and sumptuously appointed guest rooms are the hallmark of Rhonda and Ed Shirley's Hawley Place Bed & Breakfast (302 Hawley Place). Around the corner is Estuary Estate (302 Roland Road). Three bedrooms in the main house and a stand-alone cottage are available for rent, and the beach below can be accessed from the property.
On the far side of Ladysmith Harbour is Page Point Inn, a popular 1940s-era B&B with 11 rooms, its own marina and the Jimmy O's restaurant. Also on Brenton Page Road is Kiwi Cove Lodge, which features a dozen guest rooms overlooking a kiwi orchard and the ocean.
Accommodations in Cedar
South of Ladysmith in the rural community of Cedar is the Yellow Point Lodge (3700 Yellow Point Road). This rustic retreat was built during the Great Depression, and is a great spot for relaxation and lively social times in the communal dining hall. Among the B&B options is Fiddick's Farm B&B, a 12ha/30ac waterfront heritage spread.
