The South Island Musical Theatre Society's production of Gilbert & Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance will keep you both chuckling and toe-tapping with its light-hearted humour, political satire and wonderful music, including such well known songs as "Poor Wandering One" and the often-parodied "I Am The Very Model of A Modern Major-General". Keep your eyes and ears open for some present day updating of this classic, and get ready to be wowed by this young and extremely talented cast of local actors!

Taste maple syrup from Vancouver Island at the Bigleaf Maple Syrup Festival! Visitors are invited to participate in mini-workshops facilitated by experienced maple syrup producers, including tapping demonstrations, presentations & displays. This year's event features cooking with local maple syrup & maple food will be available. The festival features a maple syrup competition with judging by celebrity chefs from Vancouver Island. The evaporator will be running all day so visitors can savour the warm maple aroma of sap & see how syrup is made. Train rides every 1/2 hour and Special Admission price.
