Part 1
Armstrong Farm Country

13.31 km - about 0 hours 21 min

Take Otter Lake Road southwest from Armstrong. Pass through farm country with horses and cattle grazing in lush green pastures and smell new mown hay. Watch for fields of pink echinacea in summer and the wetlands surrounding Otter Lake. In autumn, make a side-trip on St. Anne's road and pick a bright orange jack-o'-lantern-to-be at The Pumpkin Patch. Continue on through woodlands and grasslands to Highway 97.

Part 2
Historic O'Keefe Ranch

0.41 km - about 0 hours 1 min

Turn north and drive a short distance to Historic O'Keefe Ranch. Stop here for an up-close and personal look at the history of cattle ranching in the valley beginning in the 1860s. See artisans at work, tour the historic buildings and see heritage breed cattle and sheep. If the timing is right, there'll be a rodeo in the corral or a cowboy dinner in full swing.

Part 3
Thomas Hayes Ecological Reserve

21.10 km - about 0 hours 33 min

Continue on to Highway 97A, circling back north toward Armstrong. Turn west at Otter Lake Cross Road to Thomas Hayes Road. Park at the Thomas Hayes Ecological Reserve and walk the wetland trails. Return to Otter Lake Cross Road, turn north and reconnect with Otter Lake Road for the run back to Armstrong.
