A significant event is being planned for the 50th Anniversary of the Skyway - the Salmo-Creston Pass.
50 years ago, the ribbon was cut at this piece of highway and traffic was allowed over the pass for the first time. This pass is a significant link between the East and West Kootenays.
The event will likely include a cavalcade of cars up from both sides, ribbon-cutting ceremony, exhibits and activities at the summit. Check back; more details to follow.
