Celebrate National Aboriginal Day - Courtenay

3320 Comox Rd
Courtenay, British Columbia
V9N 3P8

Saturday, June 21, 2014

For many years the people of the Comox Valley have come together to celebrate the vibrant cultures and diversity of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples of Canada on Saturday June 21 from 12-6pm, National Aboriginal Day.  Stroll around the K'omoks grounds to see the unique offerings of the craft and artisan vendors, storytellers and workshops. Witness traditional dances from the West Coast, Prairie, and Metis people, including the Kumugwe Dance Group. Savour Aboriginal foods such as wild sockeye salmon cooked traditionally around an open fire, buffalo burgers and Elk stew, and fresh bannock with homemade jam and candy-smoked salmon. Join us on the original K'omoks village site - to celebrate our country's rich cultural history.
