The village of Clinton is located on Highway 97, the longest continuously numbered highway in British Columbia.
Clinton is 378km/235mi northeast of Vancouver, and 74km/46mi south of 100 Mile House. It is also a featured stop along various driving routes. Town streets are paved and well maintained, as is Jesmond Road as far as Kelly Lake and Downing Provincial Park. Car travel is ideal for getting to and around town; however, public transportation to Clinton is also available.
Car Travel
Driving is the easiest way to get around Clinton and the surrounding area. The Car Depot offers car rentals at 100 Mile House, a one-hour drive north of town. The nearest taxi service is Mile-0-Taxi and Charters, based in Lillooet a half-hour drive south. Winter weather can lead to icy road conditions, so good winter tires are a must. Drivers should pack for emergencies when exploring in the back country, as cell phone service does not reach to the outlying areas.
