Getting to Clearwater is easy. From Kamloops, drive north along Highway 5 (The Yellowhead) through Barriere. From Vancouver, connect to the Highway 5 (Coquihalla) at Hope to Kamloops; or take the Trans-Canada along the Fraser Canyon to Kamloops and connect to Highway 5 (The Yellowhead).
From Jasper, Alberta, take Highway 16 through Mount Robson Provincial Park and connect to Highway 5 though Valemount, then south to Clearwater.

The western reaches of the Wells Gray Provincial Park at Mahood Lake are accessible off of Highway 97 North at 100 Mile, via forest Grove and South Canim Lake Road. The Murtle Lake Nature Conservancy is reached via Blue River, also on Highway 5. There are no car rentals operators in Clearwater. However, car rentals are available in Kamloops, a 1.5-hour drive away.
