Year round activities revolve around the water at Christina Lake.
This 18km/11mi long body of water is reputed to be the warmest tree-lined lake in Canada with an average summer temperature of 22°C/71°F. Myriad secluded beaches and two boat launches provide ready access for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and parasailing.
Fishing is popular in Christina Lake, smaller area lakes, many local creeks and the Kettle River.
Beaches
Christina Lake is generally lined with private residences, resorts and summer cottages, but there are still plenty of public beaches and many offer boat only wilderness seclusion. Christina Lake Provincial Park, just 1km/0.6mi from the village centre is easy to reach and makes a good spot for picnicking under the trees.

Boat-Access Beaches
Boat access only beaches include Treadmill Creek and Parson Creek on the west shore, Ole Johnson, Axel Johnson and Starchuk. Take a boat or hike to Troy Creek at the northern tip of the lake or Trapper Creek on the northeast shore. Several small beaches are available to campers at the Texas Creek Campground in Gladstone Provincial Park.
Kayaking and Canoeing
Paddling is an excellent way to explore the shoreline at the north end of the lake. Look for First Nations petroglyphs (rock carvings) at sites accessible only by water. Stop and stare at the giant cedars (2.4m/8ft diameter) in the old growth cedar/hemlock forest. The Kettle River south of the village provides another gentle-water venue for paddlers. Kayak tours are available through Wild Ways Adventure Sports in Christina Lake.
Fishing
Christina Lake is home to 19 species of fish including rainbow trout, kokanee salmon, whitefish, small and large mouth bass. Tributary creeks, the outflow Christina Creek and the Kettle River are also popular fishing spots. Troll, cast, launch a fly or cut a hole in the ice, there's fishing action year round. Lake Time Charter & Fishing provides the services of a licensed fishing guide for charters. Competitive anglers sign up for the annual Fishing Derby in May.
Boat Rentals and Water Taxi
Boat and water toy rentals are available at Christina Lake Marina. This company also provides water taxi service, as does Lake Time Charter & Fishing.
