Minter Gardens is considered the crown jewel among Chilliwack's gardens and city parks. Located near Exit 135 off the Trans-Canada Highway, these privately operated, 13ha/32ac show gardens are sometimes compared to the world-famous Butchart Gardens in Victoria. Created by passionate gardener Brian Minter, Minter Gardens opened in 1980 and attracts more than 100,000 visitors a year.
Against the backdrop of 2,130m/7,000ft Mt. Cheam, wander through Minter Gardens to discover 12 different themed gardens, including an enormous rose garden (there are more than 750 rose plants at Minter Gardens), a lake garden, scent garden, children's garden, arbour garden, and formal garden.

Take a walk through our 18 acres of greenhouses and nursery and enjoy colour that changes with the seasons. Afterwards, stop by our Callicarpa Cafe for a delicious lunch, snack and a hot or cold beverage.
Hand picked by Brian Minter, the Country Garden team sources an astonishing selection of new plants from all over the world. We also grow our own in 13 greenhouses including a state-of-the-art Prinz House.
