Theatre communities are thriving in the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast region. Don't miss a trip to Barkerville Historic Town which offers a wealth of entertainment options.

Staffed with actors who double as tour guides, Barkerville is also home to the illustrious Theatre Royal which provides live family entertainment, featuring acts in the same style as those enjoyed by miners over 100 years ago. Discover the workings of the massive Cornish Wheel that powered mining operations. Then in the courtroom experience the high drama re-created in this sombre setting, once ruled by Judge Begbie, the famous "Hanging Judge." New productions are staged each summer.

Williams Lake Studio Theatre mounts drama, comedy and musical productions during its fall-to-spring season, while Quesnel's Secondhand Theatre Company stages one or two plays per season. Just south of Quesnel in the community of Kersley you can see the noted Kersley Players. Keep an eye open for touring companies and artists whose productions are brought to local theatres by various arts councils.
