At this festival contemporary writers & readers meet in a beautiful west coast setting. Friday evening offers a stimulating mediated panel discussion & a brief glimpse at all of our writers. On Saturday you can attend individual annotated readings with each guest author. The Literary Cabaret on Saturday provides all the components necessary for an entertaining & stimulating evening: readings, music, & good food. Socializing with the writers & other like-minded readers is a key rewarding element of the festival. The venue, Campbell River's Maritime Heritage Centre, provides a perfect nautical backdrop for this event.

Ocean's Day has been celebrated worldwide since 1992, when it was declared a celebratory day to care for our oceans at the Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit. On June 6th, many partners in Campbell River are coming together to help make this a fun-filled family event. Most of the activity will take place around the Maritime Heritage Centre. Past events have included such things as Coast Guard Tour of Point Race, Free Fishing at the Pier, Aquaculture info, DFO demo of the ROV Remotely operated vehicle, free tours at the centre, Pirate Bounce-A-Rama, Dunk Tank & music.

This three day event honours the prime industries of Northern Vancouver Island: Forestry and Fishing and our Festival. The Logger Sports event depicts the past and present logging practices through entertaining competitions between loggers. The Campbell River Salmon Festival is the largest of its kind in Canada for prize purses and number of events.

In keeping with our name, we will be presenting the 8th annual Seafood Cook-Off. Friday will be the Oyster cooking Contest and Saturday and Sunday will be various seafood competitions and demonstrations. There is something for everyone at the 48th Annual Campbell River Salmon Fest!
