For a small town, Burns Lake has a considerable number of restaurants. Most options are located along Hwy 16 through the centre of the community. Some restaurants are also located in the mall at the east end of town.
Choices range from fast food, Chinese cuisine, pub fare, health food and pizza. A catering company in town also specializes in traditional First Nations food.
Casual Fare
Mulvaney's Pub & Grill, the local sports bar at the east end of town, has a huge menu and serves large portions.
The New Leaf Café, attached to the local health food store, is an especially tasty and nutritious option for lunch and snacks. Redfern's Coffee House, located in the top level of a quaint house on Hwy 16, is a great spot to relax. It's also an internet café.

Wagon Wheel Drive In
On the way to the southside of town, an old favourite with the locals is the Wagon Wheel Drive In. This is a small summer stand at the bottom of Hwy 35, next to the northside Francois Lake ferry terminal. Enjoy an awesome view of lake along with some home-cut fries and tasty burgers while waiting for the ferry.
Farmers Markets
For travellers looking to stock up, Burns Lake has three summer farmers markets that sell local produce and baked goods – two on the northside and one on the southside.
