The first exhibition to highlight the City of Richmond's Public Art Program. Curated by Richmond Art Gallery Director Rachel Rosenfield Lafo, the exhibition will feature several diverse public art projects representing the different ways public art is funded in Richmond - through civic funding, private development, community projects, and the program's newer series of temporary projects and socially engaged artist performances. The goal of the exhibition is to reveal the mysteries of the public art process, its role in cultural planning strategy, the possibilities it offers for community participation and its value to the community.

This special tour of the BC Sports Hall of Fame gains you access behind the scenes at BC Place, one of Canada's most modern stadiums. Join us as we walk exclusively through areas of the stadium such as the media rooms, luxury suites and the locker rooms of the BC Lions and the Vancouver Whitecaps (when available). You even get to walk onto the actual field and enjoy a tremendous view of BC Place. Afterwards visitors can relive the excitement of the 2010 Olympics Games in the Hall of Fame's Vancouver 2010 Gallery and participate in numerous interactive activities in the participation zone.

Tours run at 10:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

You will hear stories of: Vancouver's first madam, who built a glamorous Gastown bawdy house before the city even had a school; a long-forgotten plague that clutched the city in its feverish grasp; the terror of the fire that ate-up Gastown in minutes and sent people sprinting for their lives down Water Street; a Klondike Gold Rush beauty, who had her heart broken - and her pocketbook looted - by a ruthless theatre magnate; and, the city's oldest unsolved murder - the death of prospector John Bray.

The tour ventures through Gastown, where many of Vancouver's most historic buildings are located.

Experience the world of a cop in the 1920s when Vancouver was a seething hub of sex, drugs, booze and organized crime. Your 90-minute walking tour takes you through the streets and alleys of Chinatown on the lookout for brothels, bootlegging joints, gambling houses and opium dens. This is a must-see tour for anyone looking for the edgier side of this great city!

Tours leave promptly on Wednesdays at 4:00 pm, and on Saturdays at 11:00 am. Tours are strictly limited in size, so please book your tickets at least 24 hours in advance.

Tickets: $20 for adults, $16 for students/seniors. Both include admission to the Vancouver Police Museum for the whole day.
