Hot Springs

British Columbia boasts an amazing array of hot springs, many of which are located in spectacularly scenic areas.
The hot spring experience in BC can range from a developed pool with amenities and towel service, to a rock-lined pool surrounded by trees and a rushing river.
Some hot springs are situated in resorts, a few are in idyllic national or provincial parks, and others are in remote areas that can only be reached by hiking, paddling or chartering a boat or float plane. A large number of the British Columbia's hot springs are found in the Kootenay Rockies, but there are also hot springs on Vancouver Island, in the Northern BC region, and in the Vancouver, Coast & Mountains region.
For some suggestions on where to start soaking, check out BC hot springs trip ideas.

Learn more about hot springs in BC's regions:
Kootenay Rockies: Most are situated in natural surroundings: soak in muscle-relaxing comfort amidst deep canyons, old-growth forests, flowing rivers, craggy mountain peaks and mineral-rich caves. Thanks to a high mineral content, hot springs throughout this region are known for their therapeutic benefits.
Northern BC: The hot springs of Northern BC are as unspoiled and pristine as the vast, natural surroundings of this region. There are some unique waters to be found here, including the thermal springs of Liard River Hot Springs, set in a lush spruce forest. Natural, non-sulphur mineral waters can also be found in this region.
Vancouver, Coast and Mountains: Visitors the world over have soaked in the healing waters of Harrison Hot Springs since the late 1800s. Even before that, they were long revered as a place of healing by the Salish First Nation. The springs are just a two-hour drive east from Vancouver via Highway 1. There are two springs located at Harrison Lake's south end: the Potash and the Sulphur.
Vancouver Island: On Vancouver Island, visit the hot springs at Maquinna Provincial Park (near Tofino), accessible by boat or float plane only. It's worth the trip: amidst magnificent natural scenery, the fresh spring water cascades down a hillside into rocky pools.
