Recreation sports events in British Columbia showcase the province’s beautiful and diverse landscape in epic displays of athleticism and sport.

Sporting action happens year round; watch top athletes compete on ski hills, in mountain bike parks, along roads and everywhere in between. Many occur annually and include a festival component with entertainment, activities and exhibitions for visitors and athletes.

Watch as skiers and snowboarders send tricks down Whistler’s snow-covered slopes at the Telus World Ski & Snowboard Festival. Those same mountains play host to vertical-defying freeride and downhill mountain bikers in summer at the Crankworx Freeride Mountain Bike Festival. Take part in the Sun Run – Canada’s largest running event – or trade shoes for cowboy boots at the Williams Lake Stampede, an annual display of BC’s cowboy culture and heritage.

There’s extreme obstacle racing (like the challenging Tough Mudder), marathon races that wind along scenic BC roads and cities, cycling grand prix races, multiple sport events, and beach volleyball tournaments among others.

Seek The Peak is back for its 11th anniversary year complete with 16 kilometers of ultimate fitness bragging rights & a challenge that is guaranteed to leave you breathless.

With an awe inspiring 4100ft climb Seek The Peak will test your fitness, stamina, strength & overall mental toughness but the camaraderie will keep you powering onwards & upwards. Face the 16 kilometer course alone or tackle the race with a team of four splitting up the legs including the famous Grouse Grind.

With every upward step you take along the route from Ambleside Park in West Vancouver to the Peak of Vancouver at Grouse Mountain valuable funds will be raised for the BC Cancer Foundation's lifesaving work in the fight against breast cancer.

This is a 3 day event for mountain bikers. It is a fully catered weekend of food, guided rides in 3 amazing riding locations on the island, local beer and cider. The event is based out of transfer beach in Ladysmith but will bring participants to Cumberland, the Cowichan Valley and Nanaimo to ride.

Ahousaht Wild Side Heritage Trail: the "Run the Wild Side" is back for the 3rd year. Last year's run was such a success with the 10km and 22km runs that this year may include a 5km run.

Used by the Ahousaht people for thousands of years, the Wild Side Trail is an 11 km escape into the remote wilderness of Clayhoquot Sound. The trail winds its way through ancient Sitka forests and nine pristine beaches. Ahousaht is accessible from Tofino by boat or air only.

The 4th Annual Branch Out Bike Tour. The tour is a 100 km bike ride that starts and ends at Panorama with the majority of the ride looping Lake Windermere. This year we expect to draw over 300 participants and volunteers and raise over $100,000 for neurological disorders.

Burnaby Counselling Group has been providing professional counselling services & workshops to communities at large for over 30 years! This year, our registered charity is determined to raise awareness on mental health topics & gather $25,000 towards subsidizing clients in need. By confronting an intense physical challenge to complete the full 48 km Baden-Powell Trail in 17 hours, hikers will seek to empathize with those who are facing emotional challenges.

This year's event will take place at Whistler Olympic Park.

After you finish the course, grab a beer & hang out with your fellow Mudders. There'll be a band & lots of food for sale.
