Recreation sports events in British Columbia showcase the province’s beautiful and diverse landscape in epic displays of athleticism and sport.
Sporting action happens year round; watch top athletes compete on ski hills, in mountain bike parks, along roads and everywhere in between. Many occur annually and include a festival component with entertainment, activities and exhibitions for visitors and athletes.
Watch as skiers and snowboarders send tricks down Whistler’s snow-covered slopes at the Telus World Ski & Snowboard Festival. Those same mountains play host to vertical-defying freeride and downhill mountain bikers in summer at the Crankworx Freeride Mountain Bike Festival. Canada's biggest community run takes place Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 9:00 am. The Vancouver Sun Run has been Canada's largest 10K road race since its inception in 1985. Still Canada's largest 10K road race, the Vancouver Sun Run is now the 2nd largest timed 10K in the world. Runners, joggers, walkers, & wheelchairs make their way around the route along the streets of downtown Vancouver. The 2014 Orecrusher XC is a multi-lap classic XC through the Cheekye Fan single-track trails of Brackendale.
Racers will ride a set number of laps of the approximately 20 Km loop of single-track trails & return to the race venue. Each category will race the same number of laps. (subject to change up to & including day of the event).
Racers are responsible for keeping track of their own laps.
On your last lap, you will divert towards the Finish line to the cheers & adulation of friends & family!

One day event located at Grassy Plains Community Hall. Travel south from Burns Lake and take the free ferry ride across Francois Lake to the beautiful Southside area. The Mud Bog is approximately 19 km south of the ferry landing. This is a fun event with "People's Choice Ballot" determining the top three winners. There is also a Children's Fun Run through the pits for rewarding prizes. Admission is $5.00/person for a day of great fun for spectators and $15.00 per each vehicle registered. Full concession on the grounds and no alcohol allowed. Whether you are a "mud bogger" or a spectator you are guaranteed a good time. Lots of prizes!
