The Hornby Island Blues Society believes that music creates community, and Blues and Roots music energize the spirit and inspire attitude. In 2015 we continue our unique workshops where we invite a dozen or so of the finest Canadian Blues and Roots musicians around to share their knowledge and inspiration with those 70 students fortunate enough to have successfully registered for the camp. Our workshops cover a variety of instruments and blues playing styles and with our small class sizes, students get a hands-on instruction that is at the heart of all successful learning. Instructors this year include Harpdog Brown, Jack de Keyzer, Paul Deslauriers, Rick Fines, Julian Fauth, Angel Forrest, J.W. Jones, Chris Nordquist, Paul Pigat and Suzie Vinnick.

This beloved classic is explores society and morality through the passionate love and tragic death of the beautiful, but fragile, courtesan Violetta, who sacrifices her one hope for happiness for her lover's reputation. The concert features soprano, Gina McLellan Morel as Violetta and tenor, Brian Lee as Alfredo, under the musical direction of David Boothroyd.
