The Kootenay Country Fair is a full day at Fort Steele Heritage Town including contests, an auction & many exhibits such as baked goods, produce & cut flowers, preserves & needlework. Fort Steele's regular displays & shops will all be open & the Steam Train will be running from 10:00 am-4:00 pm. It will be a very fun day from 8:30 am in the morning until 4:30 pm.

The Southlands Riding Club is hosting the 12th Annual Southlands Country Fair. The Country Fair has become a popular annual tradition where citizens of the lower mainland are invited to come enjoy 'a day in the country without leaving the city'. The Fair runs from 10:00 am-4:00 pm, rain or shine (most events will be moved under cover if it rains). Entry is by donation, some activities cost a small fee. The Fair features pony rides, petting farm, old fashioned games, spectacular equestrian entertainment by Southlands Riding Club members, a silent auction, a local arts and crafts market, farmers market, music, book sale, face painting, hay piles, bouncy horses, delicious food enjoyed outdoors, and much more!

Downtown Nanaimo's annual Harvest Festival celebrates the local natural food movement. The heart of the Festival is a lineup of 40 vendors, educational displays and interactive presentations focused on the local food movement. This one-day event includes a 'Fresh Food Fair' featuring local chefs and food trucks offering tasty dishes. Bluegrass and roots blues performers will keep the festival atmosphere lively. Baby farm animals are there for your petting pleasure as Tiger Lily Farms returns with their corral of critters for the little ones to learn a bit about farm life. Island Farms' 'Farmer Vicki and Daisy the Cow' will also be on hand. A Farmer & Vendor Market will offer fresh produce, locally harvested and value-added products from local growers and producers.

Tour the Farm's heritage orchard to learn about historic apples. Master Gardener Roger Phillips shares info on mason bees & rare heritage vegetables & herbs growing in the Farm's heirloom gardens.

Enjoy live music.

Take part in traditional harvest festival games & activities, including potato sack races, "Scarecrow Relay," & corn-husking competitions for prizes & bragging rights.

Try harvest-themed crafts like vegetable stamping & have your face painted.

Watch cider press & butter-making demonstrations, & sample applesauce cooked on the woodburning stove.

Visit the vendors market, featuring local artisans & small businesses. Sample popcorn, apple cider, & coffee on the veranda, then head inside the Farmhouse for a guided tour with a costumed guide.

Open to all ages, drop in entrance by donation.
