Fort Steele's regular displays & shops will all be open & the Steam Train will be running from 10:00 am-4:00 pm. It will be a very fun day from 8:30 am in the morning until 4:30 pm.

Downtown Nanaimo's annual Harvest Festival celebrates the local natural food movement. The heart of the Festival is a lineup of 40 vendors, educational displays and interactive presentations focused on the local food movement. This one-day event includes a 'Fresh Food Fair' featuring local chefs and food trucks offering tasty dishes. Bluegrass and roots blues performers will keep the festival atmosphere lively. Baby farm animals are there for your petting pleasure as Tiger Lily Farms returns with their corral of critters for the little ones to learn a bit about farm life. Island Farms' 'Farmer Vicki and Daisy the Cow' will also be on hand. A Farmer & Vendor Market will offer fresh produce, locally harvested and value-added products from local growers and producers.

Every fall the Windermere Community Association hosts the Fall Fair & Scarecrow Festival. This year is the 14th annual. Events include judged entries of flowers, vegetables, fruit, baking, canning & photography. Craft demonstrations & display booths cover the school grounds adjacent to the hall & include blacksmithing, quilting, bent willow furniture making, wood carving, interesting foods & jewellery. This is a family day with lots of events for the kids, such as races, face painting, fish tank, clowns, the Windermere Fire Department, the egg catapult & dog shows. Great food is served all day.
