Our annual Canada Day event is being held at the Mesachie Lake Hall & Ball Field. Everyone is welcome! Something for the whole family. Multi-cultural theatre, dancing, storytelling, arts & Crafts & food. As well as face painting, games & local folklore for the whole family. Help us celebrate our home in Canada with some birthday cake, promotional materials, fireworks & more. Event is free for the whole family.

Peak season commences July 1 for Fort Steele and they're planning a big kick-off party. Celebrations begin with the Kimberley Community Band. There will be birthday cake, family games, wagon & steam train rides, heritage trades, living history street dramas and the first public performance of this year's live theatre show 'Gabardine & Galoshes' at the Wild Horse Theatre round out the afternoon.

Bring the whole gang out to help the staff of Huble Homestead celebrate Canada's birthday in traditional Huble style! Be sure to check out pioneer demonstrations like ice cream making, enter Dad in the pie-eating competition, and laugh at the kids as they play old-fashioned games like the egg toss. This event is guaranteed to have lots of prizes, complimentary birthday cake, and plenty of entertainment for the entire family!

Every year Gibsons has a wonderful Canada Day Ceremony at Winegarden Park next to the harbour. The views are spectacular & it's a great event to enjoy some local entertainment & bring a picnic or grab some yummy take out.

Celebrate Canada Day at Memorial Peace Park. Festivities take place from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Begin your day with a visit to the Haney Farmers Market, followed up with lots of interactive activities for children and families. The official ceremonies, flag-raising and awards will begin at 12:30 pm. Entertainment, singing, dancing, activities, food and fun continue throughout the day. Don't forget to participate in our neighbourhood "Show Your Colours for Canada Day" contest.

64th Annual Saturna Island Lamb Barbeque is on Monday, July 1, 2013. We will serve approximately 1300 meals to tourists from all over the world. The proceeds go to supporting our Community's many activities & the Community Hall. Tickets available at the gate. Gate opens at 10am. Cost: Adults - $20 Children under 12 - $10. Tickets can be pre-booked for groups of 6 or more but not prepaid. Meal served from 2- 3pm. Alternate food available (i.e. vegetarian, hamburgers etc.). Free shuttle service from BC Ferry to site & from ship to shore at Winter Cove.
