The market is an old-fashioned, country-style market selling fresh, locally grown farm & garden produce, home baking, honey, soap, woodcrafts, jewellery, and a variety of original items hand-crafted by local artisans. Celebrate the raucous energy and infectious rhythms of Bhangra at the HSBC City of Bhangra Festival. The festival takes place in venues throughout downtown Vancouver and Surrey, with 10 days of free and ticketed events. Highlights this year include a free concert (located at the Vancouver Art Gallery Plaza), Celebrate the Harvest (an event featuring collaborations between and performances from Israeli folk dance and Punjabi folk arts), interactive workshops, demonstrations and a closing gala. Drawing international attention every year, the festival sees performances by musicians and dancers from Canada, the United States, India, the United Kingdom, Finland, Denmark and more.

Castlegar Sunfest is held annually on the first weekend of June and the goal of the organizing committee is to stage events and provide entertainment suitable for people of all ages. The weekend begins with a fundraising BBQ on Friday at noon. The Festival in the Park opens in Kinsman Park, on hand are dozens of food and merchandise vendors and a variety of activities and entertainment to keep everyone in a great mood. The Miss Castlegar Pagean also takes place on Friday evening in the Stanley Humphries Secondary School theatre.
