Begin your day with a visit to the Haney Farmers Market, followed up with lots of interactive activities for children and families. The official ceremonies, flag-raising and awards will begin at 12:30 pm. Entertainment, singing, dancing, activities, food and fun continue throughout the day. Don't forget to participate in our neighbourhood "Show Your Colours for Canada Day" contest.

The people of Steveston have come together every year since 1945 to celebrate Canada's birthday & the rich heritage of their community.

The day begins with a parade through the historic village. After the official opening, the stage bursts with great entertainment all afternoon.

Festival highlights include the Japanese cultural show, craft fair, trade show, an awesome children's festival, Funtastic inflatables & mini midway, martial arts demonstrations, youth rock fest, food fair plus an art show & exhibit.

The main attraction is our famous salmon barbecue where over 1200 pounds of wild salmon fillets are grilled over open fire pits.

The Tofino Saltwater Classic Fishing Derby was created by the National Hockey League's Brendan Morrison as a fundraiser for Tofino community iniatives. In it's 5th year, the Derby will welcome more than 100 anglers. A full weekend event that includes Welcome Event with Brendan Morrison, Dinner and Silent Auction on Saturday night and Prize ceremony on Sunday afternoon, plus 2 full days of fishing! The festival will be comprised of 40% headliners and 60% local musicians, raising money for musical education.

The festival stage will be located in the Edgewater Elementary School grounds, which includes a spectacular view of the Columbia River Wetlands and Steamboat Mountain.
