Our family friendly, free-to-attend arts celebration presents some of the world's top international chalk artists as well as artists from our local community and the Lower Mainland. This year, our festival significantly expands across our beautiful downtown and includes the Royal BC Museum which hosts our exciting 3D chalk painting within a free admission area as well as our performance stage featuring many singers, dancers and drummers from our First Nation's community. The Kootenay Country Fair is a full day at Fort Steele Heritage Town including contests, an auction & many exhibits such as baked goods, produce & cut flowers, preserves & needlework. Fort Steele's regular displays & shops will all be open & the Steam Train will be running from 10:00 am-4:00 pm. It will be a very fun day from 8:30 am in the morning until 4:30 pm.

The Southlands Riding Club is hosting the 12th Annual Southlands Country Fair. The Country Fair has become a popular annual tradition where citizens of the lower mainland are invited to come enjoy 'a day in the country without leaving the city'. The Fair runs from 10:00 am-4:00 pm, rain or shine (most events will be moved under cover if it rains). Entry is by donation, some activities cost a small fee. The Fair features pony rides, petting farm, old fashioned games, spectacular equestrian entertainment by Southlands Riding Club members, a silent auction, a local arts and crafts market, farmers market, music, book sale, face painting, hay piles, bouncy horses, delicious food enjoyed outdoors, and much more!
