Master sand sculptors travel from all corners of the globe to participate in this remarkable competition & exhibit.

Sculptors have 24 hours over 3 days to create masterpieces from just sand & water.

The competition, which is an official World Sand Sculpting Championships qualifying event, begins with the "pound up" (when sculptors build & fill their forms) on July 12 & the winners are announced on July 14.

The gated exhibit is open to the public until August 18 & votes are taken for people's favourite sculpture.

Entry to the exhibit area is by donation (suggested donation: $2.50 per person).

The Sooke Fine Arts Show provides the opportunity for the finest artists from Vancouver Island & BC's Coastal Islands to showcase & sell their work. Along with the more than 8,000 annual visitors who attend, the 11-day show draws hundreds of art patrons from British Columbia, western Canada, & the United States. Visuals - Squamish Valley Artists, will be hosting an event called Squamish Artcrawl, from August 3rd to September 22nd, 2013. Local venues and businesses will be transformed into galleries, hosting local artists for the duration of the event. The first and last weekend will feature studio tours.
