This is the first major survey exhibition of the artist's work and will be presented from May 31 - September 1, 2014. Douglas Coupland is an artist based in Vancouver whose remarkably prolific production across a diverse range of media over the past 12 years addresses the singularity of Canadian culture, the power of language, as well as the ever-pervasive presence of technology in everyday life.

The title of the exhibition, 'everywhere is anywhere is anything is everything', refers both to Coupland's deep engagement with place and cultural identity and, simultaneously, his recognition of a growing ubiquity as access to information, images and technology becomes more readily available to the masses.

Quadra Island Artists host their annual Studio Tour which is a great opportunity to meet the creative people behind the artwork and explore Quadra Island. See their work in glass, stone sculpture, pottery, photography, printmaking, painting & other media.

Tour the studios, go for a picnic on Rebecca Spit and enjoy the view of the mountains across Sutil Channel - a perfect weekend outing. After the opening weekend, many studios continue to welcome visitors throughout the summer for the year-round Studio Tour. Many accommodations offer discounts - mention the tour! Vancouver Island's largest outdoor visual art event is a community outreach initiative featuring 180+ invited professional & emerging artists from Victoria & surrounding areas. Artists take their studios to the street to display & produce their work on Moss Street between Fort St & Dallas Rd. The Paint-In is a free & fun-filled community-based art awareness & education event that sees up to 35,000 visitors. Once again TD demonstrated its commitment to supporting the visual arts as the Paint-In's Title sponsor, backed by further support from the City of Victoria. This event allows local artists access to a receptive audience & encourages an appreciation of the arts among visitors. Over 200 volunteers & participating artists dedicate at least 4,000 hours to make this exceptional annual community event possible!

The Annual Carving on the Edge Festival celebrates the work of both traditional and contemporary wood carving artists; the 10-day festival includes a fine art wood carving show, demonstrations on traditional canoe-building, Nuu-chah-nulth paddle-making, mask making, burl wood carving, tool-making, and traditional designs. Presentations by master carvers, storytelling events, and family carving workshops for all ages. All events are open to the public at no charge and a "Carving Map' is available from local businesses and visitor centres will lead festival goers to event locations.
