You are invited to participate in a juried glass exhibit at the Radium Hot Springs pools in Kootenay National Park.

This exhibit will be viewed by a large audience of visitors and features artists from Western Canada. Artwork should reflect the theme of 'Colourful Seasons' within the context of the nature of Kootenay National Park and may be either abstract or representational. If recognizable mountain peaks, wildlife or plant species are depicted, they must be those found naturally in Kootenay National Park.

Quesnel & District Leisure Services will host artists and artisans selling and demonstrating their art in tents on the grass surrounding Shiraoi House from 10:00 am-2:00 pm. Shiraoi House also celebrates its 10th anniversary at the event.

There will be art materials available for visitors to try water colour, acrylic and oil paints led by event coordinator Elizabeth Waldorf. Kids will also have a blast making colourful wind socks and fans.

The Annual Carving on the Edge Festival celebrates the work of both traditional and contemporary wood carving artists; the 10-day festival includes a fine art wood carving show, demonstrations on traditional canoe-building, Nuu-chah-nulth paddle-making, mask making, burl wood carving, tool-making, and traditional designs. Presentations by master carvers, storytelling events, and family carving workshops for all ages. All events are open to the public at no charge and a "Carving Map' is available from local businesses and visitor centres will lead festival goers to event locations.

The 9th Annual Quadra Island Paint Out 2014 happens on the second Saturday & Sunday in September with the support of Firesign Art & Design Studio and B&B & the Heriot Bay Inn as part of the International Plein Air Painters (IPAP) 12th Great Worldwide Paint Out. All painters are invited to participate for free, & spectators are welcome throughout the event!

On Saturday, September 13, artists will paint at the Heriot Bay Inn all day & then at 3:00 pm there will be an exhibit of the weekend's work & a reception at the Heriot Bay Inn. The public is invited to view the art and meet the artists, refreshments served.
