Quesnel & District Leisure Services will host artists and artisans selling and demonstrating their art in tents on the grass surrounding Shiraoi House from 10:00 am-2:00 pm. Shiraoi House also celebrates its 10th anniversary at the event.

There will be art materials available for visitors to try water colour, acrylic and oil paints led by event coordinator Elizabeth Waldorf. Kids will also have a blast making colourful wind socks and fans.

Come join us at the Okanagan Historical Society, Kelowna Branch, Old Fashioned Family Social at the Father Pandsoy Mission on August 23rd from 11am - 3pm. This fundraising event is for all ages and there will be lots of activities including old fashioned clothes washing, spinning and weaving, and calligraphy demonstrations. Have fun and learn at the Westbank First Nation activity booth and admire the antique fire trucks and tractors, children can even ride a mini-train! There will also be lots of musical entertainment for all to enjoy. Hermco Street Food will be onsite selling burgers, hot dogs and fries and there will be water, juice, pop and ice cream for sale as well. Entrance is $2 for adults and $5 for families.

Staircase Theatre presents the 1st annual instalment of Movin' On Up, which will feature two brand new one act plays by two local, emerging playwrights, Scott Button and CR Packer. Scott Button's play, 'Better', is a claustrophobic thriller and a dissection of class in our contemporary world. Better features Vancouver theatre veterans, Dawn Petten and Katharine Venour. CR Packer's play, 'Avril, Finally', revolves around a funeral and three men brought together in unlikely circumstances. Avril, Finally features the talents of Sebastian Kroon, Byron Noble and Robert Salvador. The two plays will be directed by local directing star, Chelsea Haberlin.
