Take a day to celebrate and discover BC's rich history. With activities such as wagon rides, horse farming exercises, Royal Engineers Living History Demonstrations - "Dresses, Drawers & More" and "Guns of the Cariboo 1865-1900", ice-cream making, gold panning, heritage games, and more, this is the perfect opportunity to explore BC's heritage. The menu for this event will include beef stew, chicken soup, home-made biscuits, pie with ice cream or sponge toffee. Music provided by local Cottonwood musicians.

The Fernie Writers' Conference is a celebration of writers and writing with courses, readings, panel discussions and other events forming a educational experience for writers and readers alike.

The conference brings award-winning writers from across Canada to instruct, read and present to a diverse audience from BC and beyond.

The conference culminates with a two-day festival of writing and reading that is open to all.

The Heart of the Rockies Triathlon is an Olympic Distance Triathlon. The swim takes place in Lake Windermere, followed by an out & back cycle route & a single lap out & back run. It's a spectacular venue in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, with stunning views of Lake Windermere & the mountains. The Heart of the Rockies Triathlon is thrilled to have several family groups participate in both the individual & team events. Come and participate or spectate.

Everyone who owns a bicycle (mountain bike, commuter/hybrid bike cyclo-cross bike, E-bike, any bike) is invited to the first annual Okanagan Trestle Tour on the BC's Trans-Canada Trail. Experience It! This self-paced recreational ride is not a timed race, but the chance to do a one-day trip on one of the most scenic regions in all of BC - the historic Kettle Valley Rail Trail. This 80km route starts with 18 trestles and two tunnels and is flat for the first 36km. with an easy 2.2% decline to Penticton. Registration includes a special event t-shirt, BBQ, entertainment & wine expo.

Enjoy 18 trestles and two tunnels on this 80 km easy ride through one of the most scenic regions of BC - the historic Kettle Valley Rail Trail. Starting at Myra Canyon (Kelowna), the ride offers 5 rest stops with food, drinks & mechanical support. Finishing in Penticton, you will be greeted by live music, a BBQ & wine expo.

Already winning both competitions & audience's hearts, 11 year old Richard Wang & 8 year old Joshua Tromans combine youthful enthusiasm with musical ability well beyond their young ages.

Selections include Beethoven's beloved "Moonlight" sonata as well as works by Bach & Chopin.

This concert is part of a monthly concert series, taking place on the 2nd Sunday of each month, in the afternoon.

Come at 1 pm for Tea & Tour before the concert (included in the price of the ticket), or show up right before 3 pm for the concert, at your convenience! 6 month ticket passes also available- $50

Kumsheen invites you to an evening of music every Saturday from mid-July to the end of August for the 3rd Annual Summer Music Series. Various musical styles such as country, folk, roots, rock and jazz will be featured this season. Past performers include Danielle Savage, Linda McRae, Steph Macpherson and Allen & Alexander, Paul Filek, Ryan McAllister and Colin Bullock.

Shows are from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm by the poolside Gazebo. Dinner show packages available.
