The valley will echo with excitement when the 5th Annual Winter Festival ramps up. This event just keeps getting bigger and better as each January sees scores of snowmobilers from throughout the region head to Valemount where they can test their endurance and speed in any number of the racing events.

There are 5 classes of drag races, including stock, improved, mountain, pro and amateur who battle it out for the cash prize. There are even races for children in the mini-sled class!

For hockey fanatics, it's hard to imagine it getting any better than this. Invermere has been named the host city for this sanctioned qualifier BC Eastern Regional Pond Hockey Championships. Outdoor rinks, on either Lake Windermere or Lake Lillian, are approximately 75' x 150', nets are 6' wide and 10" tall and side boards are made of snow. It's 4-on-4 hockey with no goalies; teams can have up to 6 players.

As part of a milestone year, Kiwanis Prince George invites you to Prince George's craft beer festival in beautiful Northern British Columbia. With similarities to a wine tasting festival, Kiwanis AleFest will offer attendees the opportunity to taste and discover a variety of high quality specialty and premium beers made by BC and Yukon independent brewers. The event will feature a selection of two separate tastings sessions, live music powered by Coldsnap, a souvenir tasting glass, craft beer learning sessions, tapas food paired to featured beer and a professional art exhibit. Volunteer run, the event is being organized by the Kiwanis Club of Prince George as an annual signature event to raise funds for local children charities and Kiwanis programs.
