Cranbrook, British Columbia
V1C 2R7

Wednesday, August 13, 2014

Stephen Palmer will be making his 3rd appearance at Cranbrook United Church.

Palmer's easy-going style has been compared to 'a shady tree on a hot summer's day' (Scott Cook). His country-roots concerts include a generous helping of gospel, folk, old time country and Steve's own unique 'Originals'.

In addition to Steve's instrumental guitar work, audiences are invited to sing-along, joining in on favourites from familiar artists like the Carter Family, Gordon Lightfoot and Ian Tyson.

In his early band work he shared the stage with Tina Turner and The Miracles, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin and The Who. Now an established acoustic-roots entertainer, he has four albums of original and traditional music recorded with Prairie Airs (2014), his most recent.

Pender Harbour Chamber Music Festival - Madeira Park

12952 Madeira Park Rd
Madeira Park, British Columbia
V0N 2H0

Daily from August 14, 2014 to August 17, 2014

The Pender Harbour Chamber Music Festival began in 2005, after a year's intensive planning by founding Chair, Lise Aylmer, and an enthusiastic group of volunteers. It has grown and prospered steadily. We now regularly sell out well in advance of the Festival each year. This year is our 10th anniversary. We begin on Thursday with an opening concert, followed by a reception during which donors get a chance to meet the musicians. On Friday afternoon, we host a free concert called "Chamber Music Doesn't Bite", designed to draw a new audience - especially youth and children - to this genre of music. Concerts Friday night, Saturday afternoon, Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon round out the weekend.
