The Contest of the Winds is the story of Grandpa Joes, a respected Interior Salish storyteller. His grandson, Sonny Boy, not only delights in his stories, but also in the practice and diligence of following old traditions and ways. When the modern and hip Ava Grrl comes to visit with her urban entourage, she and Sonny Boy don't exactly see eye to eye. Grandpa Joes attempts to show them how to respect one another's ways by telling them a legend of the cold North Wind and warm South Wind. These powers are locked in a battle to find balance amongst the seasons in order for the people of the land to survive and prosper.

ECHO Players holiday production of Norm Foster's Ethan Claymore is a light-hearted comedy that puts the merry in Merry Christmas. This play blends the softness of a Norman Rockwell winter scene with a touch of "Seinfeld" a truly affectionate comedy. This play has become a Canadian Christmas classic.
With laugh-out-loud lines like "I'm married - I don't have to impress anyone" Norm Foster's yuletide whimsy Ethan Claymore sparkles with wit from start to finish. Reclusive widower Ethan Claymore has given up hope of finding love and laughter again. Much to his surprise, he is visited by his brother's spirit, who along with a meddling neighbour, is determined to bring the sparkle back to Ethan's eyes. This funny play is a perfect way to celebrate the Christmas.
