This will be the 18th season for The Kelowna Farmers' & Crafters' Market. From humble beginnings we've grown to become British Columbia's largest Farmers' Market, which is quite an accomplishment. With ongoing concerns over our food sources, our environment, and with the awareness of the benefits of eating locally produced foods, we are seeing a growing attendance each year. More and more people are willing to support and encourage our local farmers and artisans by shopping at The Kelowna Farmers' & Crafters' Market. Market is open Wednesday and Saturday.

March 22 - March 24, 2013 It Started With a Stitch, Westshore Quilters' Guild Quilt Show. Beautiful quilts, special displays, merchant's mall, concession, raffle quilts, door prizes, members' store, Scavenger Hunt for children & hands on demonstrations including Crazy Quilting, Charity Sewing, hand quilting & more. Eagle Ridge Community Centre, 1089 Langford Parkway, Victoria, BC Friday and Saturday, 10 am - 6 pm, Sunday 10 am - 4 pm, Admission $6 for the weekend.

This open-air market is surrounded by rose bushes, trees & gardens as a backdrop, with stairs & benches for sitting. All goods for sale are grown or crafted locally, it is a true source of local produce & merchandise.

Enjoy a day of family oriented activities ranging from a Farmer's Market, Quesnel Bagpipe Band, Highland Dancers, horse-drawn wagon rides, arts and crafts, and heritage games. Music will be provided by Eddie DeSouza. Enjoy a barbequed hamburger or hotdog served with vegetables & dip, ice cream cone and beverage. Admission to the site is half price ($4.50) for families.

This annually anticipated event draws spectators & performers from all across the country for an action-packed weekend. Horses, cowboys & contestants gather here to compete. The rodeo & campgrounds are located along the banks of the picturesque Kispiox River.

Although Emily Carr described herself as an isolated little old woman on the edge of nowhere, her work has a universal appeal. With this exhibition, the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria will become the premiere destination on Vancouver Island to visit and learn about Emily Carr through her paintings. On the Edge of Nowhere will include a historical survey of Carr's artistic career, featuring pieces in all the media & styles she explored & perfected. It will also focus on Carr's influences & inspirations, such as European modern art, members of the Group of Seven artists, First Nations artists and Carr's spirituality.

The Bowen Road Farmers' Market is in its 7th year! It was started by a group of people concerned about our ever quickly changing world, the loss of rurality, food production, food sustainability & the connection to the earth. Ours is a fun & vibrant market. Weekly we feature musicians & of course a wide variety of friendly vendors & excellent products produced by organic growers who transport their food within a 80 km (50 mi) radius.
