Hey there,

Just got back from a trip to the Okanagan, a trip taken expressly for the wine, but enjoyed lots of the other attractions too.

The one thing I noticed is that all the best & most interesting wineries are not listed on your HelloBC.com site.  Is this site not government funded? If so why is it that so few of the smaller wineries are not listed here? Is the price too high?

I would like to point out that those visitors who are planning a cellar stocking trip like we were need to do a lot more homework than this site.

Attention Wine Lovers!! Be sure to visit our favorites too! Golden Beaver Winery - their motto is Fun Name FINE Wine... and it's true - don't let the name dissuade you! Go in and ask how they came up with it! The wine will be worth it!

Also worth a stop Oliver Twist and Twisted Tree!

Hey Sam. Sadly, you're absolutely right. Despite half a dozen bureaucratic organizations all claiming to be doing a fabulous job of promoting BC's wonderful wineries, there is no COMPLETE, single, tourist-oriented web-site to help visitors to BC's wine regions. Worse, some of our most exciting wineries don't show up on any of the "official" sites. However, there is a way around the problem. Arguably the most complete and up-to-date listing of wineries is Bob Bell's personal cause celebre -- http://www.winesofcanada.com/bc.html -- if you marry the winery information you find there, with travellers information at Hellobc.com you'll be all set for a great adventure.

Hi Sam, thanks for your input. Hellobc.com does its best to add as many wineries and vineyards to the website, but it's up to the vineyards and wineries businesses themselves as to whether they want to participate in our listings program. Hopefully, comments like yours will encourage more of British Columbia's wineries to come on board - so they don't miss out on great visitors like yourself.

We do have about 75 of them listed so far here: http://www.hellobc.com/en-CA/SearchResultsListings/BritishColumbia.htm?CATID=227&LOCID=-1&KWDS=&NBY=False&FLID=3&FL2ID=227&PN=1. And of course, we offer lots of new information about the regional tours, wineries and vineyards via our Things To Do pages and are constantly updating our site with new and important information.
