There's no need to travel miles to the ocean when you live in Chetwynd and want relax on the beach. Just a 10 km drive from downtown Chetwynd is a beautiful sandy beach along the cool Pine River.

We packed up the kids and a picnic lunch, and off we went to spend the afternoon beside the river.  The kids had a blast tossing rocks into the river and chasing minnows in the shallow pools. We saw a few people trying their luck fishing just upstream from the bridge.

The water was cold, but the sun was hot and the breeze kept the bugs away. What a perfect day!

With all the hot weather lately, what's a girl to do with three year old boys? Answer: take them on a camping trip to Moberly Lake!

Just a short 25 minute drive from Chetwynd, Moberly Lake has everything a family could want-gorgeous picnic area, a fabulous campground, and lots of areas for swimming and boating.

We brought the whole family and spent the day boating and swimming in between roasting hotdogs on the BBQ at the campsite and watching the local squirrels. What a fabulous day! We even got a little knee-boarding in under the afternoon sun!
