Just spent 3 days snow shoeing and cross country skiing above Sechelt. Was only a 45 min ferry ride from Vancouver. About 40 min drive from Ferry to snow area. Snow was amazing and heard there was even a cougar in the area so we satyed at a B&B instead of camp in snow. We thought there must have been 8 ft of snow. The view was spectacular of all Georgia Strait. You could see the gulf islands and upto comox.
Road up was plowed yet we never saw the plow truck. he must come and plow in middle of the nite.
Even found some areas we could snow board.
` We will be back

So much snow and not enough people to enjoy it. 20 minute drive from Sechelt and you may be the only ones up here. Mid Week there are few people up skiing or snow shoeing. On the weekends there may only be 50 people through the Day but miles of trails and virgin areas. Views of Howe sound, Mt Baker, Gulf islands and up Georgia Strait.
And it is all free this year. Play in the snow and 30 minites later go kayaking or hiking to the Skookumchuck. Visit the Mollys reach resturant. Go for a walk on the beach .
