My husband and I visited British Columbia in the fall of 2005. We were totally mesmerized by all the attractions we enjoyed. A most memorable one was  visiting Chinatown in Vancouver. It is so interesting to look in on cultures other than our own. The shops were so different and especially the Tibetan store where we experienced the "singing bowls". The storekeepers were so friendly and helpful and let us try out numerous ones. Also in the same shop we could not  resist the hand crafted Tibetan jewellery that has so many hidden meanings. It was indeed a very pleasurable experience and one that we would love to repeat in the very near future.

During our vacation visit to BC in the summer of 2005, we found a wonderfful place to visit just accross a water them Park near Bridal Veil Falls.

We had just droped off our kids for their fun in the water whereafter my wife (Eva) and I crossed the highway to check out the a Garden Park we were told about.

Upon our arrival we were fasinated to discover such a well mainatain Garden Park. The Name of this wonderful theme Garden is "Minter Gardens" it features 11 themed gardens which dazzle our senses with massive displays of colour and fragrance. We spent all morning and into the afternoon walking thorughout the facility thoroughly enjoying the sences, smells and sounds of this Heavenly Place!

We would encourage anyone just leaving Chilliwack or just about to arrive there to pull off and take the time to visit this place. It will be pleasent memory for all!

We have choosen one photo we took  of the Rose Garden (though there were many others we could have choosen) for your viewing pleasure.

Thank you for the chance to share our experince with this discovery we made in BC.

The towns of Stewart, B.C. and Hyder, AK
share an international border and are a study
in contrasts. Stewart is a tidy Canadian town
surrounded by magnificent scenery. The near ghost town of Hyder shares the same incredible scenery but has a decidedly rowdy Alaskan flair to it. These towns are undiscovered treasures not overrun by cruise ship - tour bus tourists. The intrepid traveler can experience majestic scenery and interesting local culture without being a part of the tourist hubbub of more visited locales such as Prince Rupert or Juneau. The area's scenery rivals the Inside Passage and yet its visitor count is not high. The Stewart Highway is a must drive for visitors to NW B.C.

In August, 2004, four old friends explored the Okanagan Valley, sipping and slurping the local vinifera, and sampling the best hospitality in the world.  One bright and sunny day, while doing our "sipping" thing at Grey Monk Winery, we decided to lunch.  And what a lunch it was!  Fantastic food, wonderful wine, and amazingly friendly service.  BUT, it was completely overwhelmed, as were we, by the astounding vista below us, running from horizon-to-horizon.  The sun sparkled off the lake waters and the sky was intense blue, and huge!! It was but one highlight a trip from which the memories will last forever!

Looking for an interesting birthday celebration celebration while visiting Vancouver, we discovered Bowen Island, an interesting little island off BC. We had taken a small float plane from downtown Vancouver for a narrated aeriel tour of the area to English Bay where we landed and were escorted to the Doc Morgan Inn, a quaint little inn for dinner ( a lovely pasta meal). We took a moonlit ferry ride back across the bay , where a limousine met us to take us back to our hotel. This was all arranged on the BC tourism website (fly&dine). The price was more than reasonable and we had the most incredible evening. Plus met some wonderful locals.
