The Kitimat Hatchery is operated by the Federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. The species mix includes Chinook salmon, Chum salmon, Coho salmon, Steelhead, and Cutthroat trout. The tours are available until August 31st and a guide will teach you the salmon life cycle from egg to adult and show you some of the salmon in their feeding tanks. The hatchery is wheelchair accessible and open Monday to Friday.
