On our adventure out to the resort lakes we made our first stop at Tatuk Lake Resort. To get there we took Kluskus Forest Service Road to 59.5km where we turned on Gold Rd and then went 7kms down the road and turned left. The signage was good but the entrance to the resort was a very slow and a narrow road. When we got there we witnessed a beautiful view of the lake and the resort and received very friendly customer service. They showed us around the resort and had a look at their nice cabins they were clean and had cold running water only one cabin had hot water. The swimming is not great at the resort but if you take a 5 minute boat ride to a pebble beach there is nice swimming. The boat launch was decent and they also supply the wood for the people who stay there. The campsites were private and were shaded along the lake. Overall though a nice resort and the view is awesome, well worth the stay!

We went to lunch at a local tea shop, Knight Creek Furniture & Tea House. It was a fantastic meal, and an even better dessert. We took a look around the furniture gallery, which has locally made furniture and it was a great experience. They had all kinds of furniture for every room in your house, they will even let you request what you want and build it for you.

We took a tour of the mill this past Wednesday, and it was quite an eye opening experience, it was an awesome place to go. We saw how the whole system works and how the transformation process works from a log to a board. This tour is open to everyone as long as you call ahead. It is not only a saw mill but a Pellet mill as well. In the tour we were shown how Pellets are made. The Mill is coming up with a plan to use the heat they burn from the wood as energy. We recommend this tour if you are stopping by Vanderhoof, but please be aware it will be at least an hour long tour. Hard hats, Safety vests and Safety glasses are required and they are supplied at the Mill.
