North Coast Taxidermy is a neat place, great for anyone interested in wildlife. It is considered a Wildlife Museum and is home to many displays of wild animals in natural poses. The animals are all prepared on site, and are picture perfect works. They have a variety of animals in the museum, from tigers to wolverines to boars, all interesting sights. Many of the displays are in the act of feeding, or being territorial, making them appear ferocious. The displays give you a glimpse of animals lives as they occur in the wild. The studio downstairs is where all the magic takes place, stuffing, tanning and bleaching animal skins and skulls to create works of art that mimic the natural world inside the safety of a house. While in the area I encourage you to check out the wildlife museum, located in Cablecar just outside of Kitimat.

Our local museum is another 'must stop' destination. Located in the lower City Centre, the museum is the place to trace the modern and pre-industrial history of Kitimat and the Kitimat Valley.
The museum has exhibits presenting our interesting history from a number of different perspectives. They depict the way of life of the early settlers and the turn of the Century pioneers. They also display a fascinating glimpse of the culture and history of the earliest residents - the Haisla First Nations of the Kitamaat Village.

Kitimat, Beaches & Swimming
Kitimat's Olympic-size pool is the centerpiece of the aquatic centre that has been retrofitted and re-opened in March 2009. Relax in the hot tub or sauna, experience the rush of the waterslide or play in the lazy river and water fountains. The Aquatic Centre is part of the Tamitik Jubilee Sports Complex that is also home to one of the Northern British Columbia's largest ice arenas, squash courts, boxing ring, and an outdoor playground.

Terrace, Festivals & Events
This year I decided to attend the events happening in Terrace during Riverboat days. It was a phenomenal experience and I encourage everyone to participate next year.
I have attached a picture video of the parade I enjoyed, what a great way to start off the day! I then went to the farmers market which was very successful, a variety of arts and crafts along with many cultures of food for sale. Yummy!
Nearby was a live band, different sporting events, and a whole lot of fun! To top off the day at night I was amazed by the fireworks. Enjoy!
Editor's note: Riverboat Days is an annual event in Terrace. Learn more about it here.

A photo situated at Lakelse Lake Provincial Park. With the gorgeous weather it made the trip remarkable. You can see the beautiful mountains of the Kitimat Range in the background along with sand on the beach and calm blue water. This park is primarily used for camping, boating, nature trail walking, and swimming. Lakelse is not to be missed when travelling to or from Kitimat.

Kitimat, Parks
Sorry for the mispronunciation in the video, it is Centennial Park. At the bottom of Haisla Hill visitors will find Centennial Park, another well-landscaped picnic area which is also the site of the community's war memorial, a Haisla totem pole and large water fountain. Great for photographs!

Located across from Rio Tinto Alcan, Moore Creek Falls are a photographer's delight. As you climb the rugged staircase carved into the hillside, the sound of snowmelt water rushing down the banks leaves you anticipating what's ahead. From the top of the stairs you get your first glimpse of the falls pouring into a rock lined pool. Following the path to your right will lead you to a full viewing area of the falls.
