McBride, Sightseeing Tours
Recently my friends and I were ATVing up the cottonwood, which is located in McBride. We saw lots of interesting things, such as wildlife, avalanche areas, and waterfalls. While travelling up, we stopped at a waterfall, hiked up where the waterfall was, and we found a little cave. Even though the cave wasn't very large, it was still very beautiful. We also stopped at a burner, which was used when there was a mill up the cottonwood. The burner is close to the river and is a great place to just stop and relax. After that we travelled 35 kilometers up, which goes to a trappers cabin. At the cabin there is a fire pit, and the river is close by. Although the cabin was locked, we had a fire, has smores, and had a great time. This ATVing trip in McBride was lots of fun and I would reccommed it to anyone who is going to be travelling in BC.

Hey,
This is the first blog that describes something new and exciting I have experienced first hand. This week was a little hard to get out and find something because school is still in session but I managed to get out there. This week I went to community basketball. Community basketball is a great way to get out and play a fun competitive game between people. It is at our local high school two nights a week and it is just a fun way to spend an evening

Hey Everyone,
Dave here, wanting to tell you about how great the town of McBride is. At first, I could not think of a way to tell people about how fantastic my town is. Now with this blog I can express why this town is so great. For the next 15 weeks, I am going to tell you about something new that this town has to offer. Therefore, every week I am going to blog an experience that I have actually tried in an effort to prove to people how great this town really is.
Cya next week
-Dave

until we become Hockeyville! One of the early contenders in the CBC/Kraft Hockeyville Competition, McBride spontaneously erupted in
BLUE - everywhere there are blue lights, streamers, clothing, hair, faces, cars, even a horse. Main Street businesses decked out their storefronts in blue, the Village trimmed the municipal office building with blue lights, trees and lampposts are wrapped in blue, and many homes in the area replaced Christmas lights with blue. On February 19, players from minor hockey, Veneer Kings, Old Timers, Women's Team and coaches all turned out for a huge mixed tournament at the Robson Valley Rec Centre. The stands were packed with fans who generously donated Kraft items to the Food Bank. And 550 people, from a village of 750, turned out for the Hockeyville photo that day. The CBC film crew visited us on the weekend of March 4 & 5. The Figure Skating Club's Carnival opened with one of our Mounties skating around the rink carrying the Canadian flag - how cool is that? And the McBride Old Timers made a special appearance as the ladies in blue at the fashion show number of the Carnival. On Sunday, Main Street was cordoned off into eight rinks for a gigantic street hockey tournament with teams comprised of players of all ages. Following the tournament, players and fans lined up to spell out "WE ARE HOCKEYVILLE" the length of Main Street while a local pilot flew the film crew and local photographers over for an aerial shot. I won't tell you what else we have up our sleeve in case you latecomers into the competition are looking to steal ideas! We look forward to seeing
McBride on the list of finalists that will be announced on March 29.
